| CD68 is expressed in macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, basophils and NK-cells. CD68 is also expressed in some peripheral blood B cells and B-cell type acute lymphoblastic leukaemia cells. CD68 can be found in some non-haematopoietic tissues (e.g. liver; renal glomeruli and tubules). The antibody labels macrophages and the cells of the mononuclear phagocyte lineage. It is a useful tool for the identification of neoplasms of myeloid and macrophage/monocyte origin. |
