The antibody stains all neurons and axonal process of the central and peripheral nervous system. It is a useful tool for the identification of tumors with neuronal differentiation and Hirschsprung’s disease.
The antibody is useful in the separation of neuroblastoma and PNET from other small round cell tumors in childhood, which include rhabdomyosarcoma, lymphoblastic leukemia, and small cell osteogenic sarcoma. Among soft tissue neoplasms, neuroblastoma variants, ganglioneuromas, paragangliomas, and metastatic neuroendocrine carcinomas are the only lesions that are potentially labeled for NFs. Differential identification is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies, especially antibodies against other types of intermediate filaments.GBI Product Description |
