Thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) is exclusively expressed in epithelial cells of the thyroid gland and lung.
The antibody labels TTF-1. It is useful in the investigation of metastatic adenocarcinoma of an unknown origin. Positive results aid in the classification of tumors of the lung and thyroid, which is particularly useful in the investigation of pleural-based malignancies. |
